Before the event kicks off in at 7 pm, the WBB committee will treat attendees to a thrilling Ranch Rodeo right at the grounds. Here, classic ranch activities such as trailer loading, hangman, and ranch bronc riding will showcase western Canadian culture. Since 2004, Wildwood Bronc Bustin’ has led the way as the first solo saddle bronc event approved by the CPRA (Canadian Professional Rodeo Association), with winnings crucial to the Canadian standings. 12. Shandy's Dream for a Cure
This month, join Barbie Brown and Rob Reichenbacher for Shandy’s Dream for a Cure Fundraiser to raise funds for pediatric cancer research.
In 2015, Barbie and Rob faced the unimaginable loss of their 11-year-old daughter, Shandy, to a brain tumor. To honor Shandy's dream of finding a cure for brain cancer, they founded Shandy’s Dream for a Cure, dedicated to raising vital funds for pediatric brain tumor research. Over the past eight years, the community of Edson has come together every June to support Barbie and Rob in remembering Shandy and continuing her legacy. Through their unwavering passion and the community's generosity, they have raised over $120,000 for pediatric cancer research.
This heartwarming day of remembrance and hope will be taking place on June 22 at RCMP Centennial Park and will feature a BBQ fundraiser, memorial walk, and butterfly release, with all proceeds supporting the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada in their mission to advance brain tumor research.
