In September, Alberta comes alive with the vibrant festivities of Alberta Culture Days—a month dedicated to celebrating the province’s rich arts, heritage, and community spirit. This year, Edson is buzzing with an array of exciting events that showcase the best of local culture and creativity. Dive into the heart of the celebration with these 6 unmissable Culture Days events coming up in Edson!
1. Downtown Art & Music Walk
Kick off Edson’s Alberta Culture Day celebrations with the Downtown Art & Music Walk and Community Pig Roast on September 19, right on Main Street (50th Street)!
Throughout the evening you will have the opportunity to participate in an air-dry clay craft, enjoy live music by local musicians, shop from an array of local art vendors and enjoy free pulled pork on a bun (while supplies last)! Let your kids loose on the bouncy castles or have fun with the whimsical balloon twisting creations. Additionally, you can take a stroll down Main Street to view the beautiful local art displayed at local businesses, or embark on the Mural Walk to discover five incredible murals painted on local businesses as part of the Resilience Project.
Need a lift? A free shuttle service, sponsored by Edson FCSS, will be available to ensure you can enjoy all the festivities with ease. The route will include Parkland Lodge (4:30 pm pickup), the Pioneer Cabin (5:30 & 6 pm pickup) and Heritage Court (5 pm pickup). After the initial pickups, the bus will remain downtown and will shuttle home residents as requested.
Come out to celebrate local arts and culture!
2. Red Brick Wildfire Exhibition
Throughout the month of September, the Red Brick Arts Centre will be showcasing a compelling new exhibit that explores the patterns, devastation & uncertainty in the time of wildfire.
