1.Edson’s Haunted Halloween Contest is Back!!


Do you decorate your yard and house with ghouls, pumpkins and all things Halloween? If so, register with the Town of Edson starting October 1, 2025 and compete for prizes. Categories include: Scariest, Family Friendly, Most Original and more.

2. From Swimming to Shinny the arena can keep you busy!


Although there is construction at the Edson and District Leisure Centre, it remains as busy as always. There is so much going on at the Edson and District Leisure Centre so check up the updated Pool and Shinny Schedule today.

3. The arena may be under construction-but it doesn’t stop a hockey game!!


Hockey is starting up for the Edson Eagles Junior A hockey Team!  This year the Eagles have three local players on their team, Tyvran Gauchier, Carter Little and Tayson Hallock. Fill the stands and cheer on the Edson Eagles October 3rd, 2025 at 7:30pm against High Prairie Red Wings.

4. Edson Cycling Association Invites you to the Grand Opening of FRIAA Trails.


Bring your hiking shoes or bikes and get ready to explore the beauty of Wilmore Park and the addition of the new trails. On October 4, 2025 from 12-4pm the Edson Cycling Association invites you to the Grand Opening of the FRIAA (Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta) Trails.

5. Become a Champion of Trivia and help support Moving Edson and Area!!


On October 4, 2025 All Star Trivia Night Championship will be held at the Edson Royal Canadian Legion #51 from 5:30pm to 10:00pm. This night is not only about bragging rights of which team of 6 will be crowned the Champion, every dollar raised will help provide safe, reliable mobility-assisted transportation for Edson residents. It is $150.00 for teams of 6, and delicious meal for just $20.00 per plate. If you order online the meal is $100.00 for the entire team, one member gets to eat for free!

6. Edson Run of Hope


Join the Run of Hope for both fitness and to support a great cause! Sunday October 5, 2025 is Edson’s 25th Annual Run of Hope for Cancer. Registration is free. Donation and pledge forms are available at Fineline Stationary and McLeod River Primary Care Network. There will be a Free BBQ after the walk.

8. Fall Fun Day at Marlboro Park

Looking for something to do Friday


Enjoy an afternoon at Marlboro Park on October 10th from 1 pm to 3 pm with games, bouncy castles, snacks and if you register by October 3, 2025 there will be pumpkins for you to paint!

Looking for something for the kids to do? Then this event just might be what you are looking for. On October 11, 2025 from 1pm – 3pm That Crafty Lady at The Creative Crossroads is hosting a Kids Resin Door Hanger Class. There are limited spots available, but click the link to register.

Support Edson youth by stopping by The Edson Public Library on October 20, 2025 from 1 pm to 3 pm and check out the Young Entrepreneur Market. This will be a unique shopping experience that will showcase the talent that our youth have.

11. Are you afraid of the dark?


EARS 9th Annual Haunted Forest Fundraiser is October 16, 2025 – October 18, 2025. There is many attractions going on at this year’s EARS Annual Haunted Forest Fundraiser from scary bush walks, kid’s games, outdoor movie, bake sale and many more. Be sure to watch their Facebook page to keep you updated.

12. Support EARS with Yoga at the Edson and District Public Library


On October 18, 2025 at 11 am join Renae for one hour all levels gentle yoga class. Depending on availability you may even be doing yoga with puppies and kittens. Bring your yoga mats, yoga blocks and some water and help support EARS with a donation. Cash or Debit is accepted. Register at the Edson Public Library.

If you’re heading into the mountains, stop in at Riderz FREE Avalanche Education Night first. This information night is great for all backcountry sports in Avalanche terrain. The event for Edson will be held October 29, 2025 at 6:00pm at Riderz.

14. Halloween is almost here! Time to sneak in another Haunted House!


Are you are up for another night of scares? Head to the Niton Haunted House, located at the Niton Bottle Depot. Open October 29th, 30th and 31st  from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. There will be popcorn, cotton candy and frights for those who dare to go.
